1. Our Business

Bear Packaging is a UK-based supplier of refuse sacks, carrier bags and rubble sacks, serving trade and retail customers across the United Kingdom. We operate from Bradford and source polythene products from UK and overseas manufacturers.

2. Our Policies

We have zero tolerance to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. Our recruitment, whistleblowing and supplier policies reflect this commitment and are reviewed annually. All staff receive training on identifying and reporting concerns.

3. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chain includes:

• UK-based polythene film manufacturers and converters
• Overseas manufacturers of finished bags, primarily in compliance-audited facilities
• Logistics and courier partners for UK and international freight

Before onboarding a supplier, we assess their labour practices, request evidence of compliance with the Modern Slavery Act where applicable, and require written confirmation that they operate ethically. For higher-risk suppliers, we carry out enhanced due diligence and may request third-party audits.

4. Due Diligence and Risk

We assess risk based on geography, sector, and the nature of the product. Where a supplier is identified as higher risk, we apply proportionate monitoring including site visits (directly or via partners), supplier questionnaires, and review of audit reports.

5. Reporting Concerns

We investigate every report and, where concerns are substantiated, we will work with the supplier to implement an improvement plan or, if necessary, terminate the relationship.

6. Effectiveness & Review

This statement is reviewed and approved by the board annually. Our performance against it is measured by the number of audits completed, the percentage of suppliers screened, and any reported incidents.
